Student Government at CVA augments the mission of the Office for Student Life by sponsoring and coordinating events, programs,
and open forum discussions for enrolled students. Student government creates leadership opportunities for all full-time students and
provides a venue for students to express their concerns on various matters through appropriate channels. Elections are held each
spring for a President, Secretary, Treasurer, Activities Coordinator, and a representative for the sophomore, junior, and senior classes.
A special election is held in the fall, so that first year Foundation students can elect a representative.

CAMPUS ACTIVITIES
CVA encourages students to become involved with programs and events sponsored by the college and other organizations.
Events planned by the Office for Student Life and the Student Government offer students opportunities for getting to know
other students in a variety of social, cultural, and educational settings.
The CVA Triathlon Club meets once or twice a week throughout the summer to have group workouts and talk
about training so we can complete a triathlon together at the end of July! You can join this group even if
you don't want to do a triathlon - maybe you just want to get in shape with fellow CVAers over the summer.
Anime is an abbreviation of the English word "animation," originating in Japan through the roots of Manga.
Although the term is used in Japan to refer to animation in general, in English usage the term most popularly refers to
material originating from Japan, a subset of animation.
The Anime Club is the oldest student-created organization on campus. Anime was introduced to CVA by Neil Johnston,
who founded the Anime Club during his time as a student, and served as its adviser while he taught painting and drawing classes at CVA.
The Anime Club continues its proud tradition of entertaining the CVA community and providing popcorn and other tasty snacks throughout
the academic year."

DISABILITY SERVICES
CVA provides a supportive environment for students with disabilities. Early self-disclosure of a learning, psychological or
physical disability is an integral component for success at college. All inquiries should be directed to the Director for
Student Life. Students requesting accommodations are required to submit a "Request for Accomodations for Students with Disabilities"
form, including documentation from a physician or other licensed professional. Failure to provide required documentation will result in delayed
or denied services. Completed requests will be reviewed to determine the appropriate accommodation.
