
Adjunct faculty member Michelle McCreery and alumna Toby Sisson ’03 are two of the artists included in an exhibition of artworks by Josephine Lutz Rollins and artists who received the University of Minnesota Fellowship in her name. The exhibition runs January 22, 2013 through February 23, 2013 with an opening reception on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. with a public talk at 5:00 p.m. All work is for sale with 100% of the proceeds going to the Josephine Lutz Rollins Fellowship fund.
Professor Lutz Rollins died in 1989. To honor the important legacy of her work as an artist, teacher, and mentor the Lutz Rollins family established the Josephine Lutz Rollins Fellowship in the Department of Art at the University of Minnesota in 1990. The fellowship is awarded annually to an outstanding female painter in the graduate program. Since its establishment, the Josephine Lutz Rollins Fellowship has been awarded to the following artists at the University of Minnesota: Michelle McCreery (91-92), Friederike Kobl Nelson (92-93), Carmen Metty (95-96), Krista Walsh (96-97), Cristi Rinklin (96-97, 97-98, 98-99), Marcela Rodriguez (99-00), Miki Kato (02-03), Samina Iqbal (02-03), Liz Miller (03-04, 04-05), Caroline Kent (05-06, 07-08), Josie Lewis (05-06), Kirsten Peterson (05-06), Toby Sisson (06-07), Lora Stoyanova-Madjar (06-07), Sonja Peterson (08-09), Jessica Teckemeyer (09-10), Tonya Balik (10-11), Maneli Aygani (11-12), and Avigail Manneberg (11-12).
