
Assistant Professor Christina Schmid has curated an exhibition at Plains Art Museum in Fargo, North Dakota, that opens on June 7, 2012. Marjorie Schlossman: A Symphony of Color, an exhibition of 68 works that represent a cross section of the artist’s career, spanning nearly 20 years of work, and include paintings as well as several of the Roberts Street Chaplets she helped create in 2006. In addition to the two galleries at the Museum, A Symphony of Color will spill over into Schlossman’s Roberts Street Chapel, her Fargo studio, and into parks throughout the city.
Schmid also contributed an essay, "The Art of Experience: Marjorie Schlossman's Paintings," to the catalog. A conversation with the artist and curator is scheduled for Thursday, July 19, 2012. The show will be on view at the Plains Art Museum until August 26.
