Skoro in Open to Interpretation

November 2, 2011

Photography Chair Ellen Skoro was notified that one of her photographs was selected as a part of the "Intimate Landscape" issue of Open to Interpretation, which is a publication that pairs photography with prose and poetry. Only 30 images out of 1,500 were chosen for the publication. Her image, Helen, Gather was awarded an honorable mention by the judge, Karen Irvine, curator at the Museum of Contemporary Photography at Columbia College, Chicago.

Eventually this collaboration will result in a published book. Each book is a two-part process. The photography call for entry comes first. The juror's results will be posted on-line on November 14th, at which time writers and poets are then invited to view the images and submit stories or poems that are inspired by the posted images and the literary portion of the selection process will begin.
