Each entry awarded a Gold Key can be a part of the MSAA Gold Key Exhibition. Follow these guidelines to prepare, deliver, and exhibit your Gold Key artwork.
Prepare Your Gold Key Work: Download PDF
Please identify your Gold Key artwork by attaching a label on the back or bottom of the work. The typed label must include: Student Name, School, Teacher Name, and Barcode Number.
To protect the student artwork, all prints, photographs, drawings, and any works on paper should be mounted on rigid board or window matted in black or white. Framed work is accepted, matted in black or white.
When matting and hinging 2D artwork, you must use foamcore as a back mat. This will ensure that the piece does not bow off of the wall. Also, please adhere the front and back mat together in several spots along the sides and bottom to keep them pressed together.
For help in hinging 2D work, follow these guidelines:
Hinge Mounting
Sample Hinge Tape
Your 2D work will need to have a hanging device. If it is framed, please make sure that the device is secure and can hold the weight of the piece. For matted our mounted work, here are two options:
Monday, January 28, 3 to 8 p.m. @ CVA Gallery
Tuesday, January 29, 3 to 8 p.m. @ CVA Gallery
Please ensure that all artwork arrives before January 29 at 6:00pm.

*Student artwork received after Tuesday, January 29 at 6:00 p.m. will not be included in the exhibition. Please make every effort to deliver artwork before this deadline.
Students with portfolio entries that have been awarded a Portfolio Gold Key are asked to choose one piece of artwork from the portfolio to represent the portfolio in the MSAA Gold Key Exhibition. Please follow the instructions above to prepare and deliver this piece of the student portfolio.
Student artwork will be installed directly into the gallery. There is no space for storing boxes and other packaging. If you are delivering the artwork, please be aware that your packaging will be sent away with you.
Individual works that exceed the size limitations will not be included in the exhibition. If you have an entry that exceeds these restrictions and the piece is chosen for the MSAA Exhibition, an 11 inch by 14 inch digital print of the piece should be submitted to be included in the show instead of the original artwork. Please follow the 2D instructions above to prepare the print.
Student artwork that has not been represented truthfully in the digital image submitted will not be included in the exhibition.
