CVA offers a unique and highly competitive fashion design program, requiring a junior year of study abroad at Paris College of Art. Spend your sophomore year at CVA exploring French language, culture, and the art history of Paris. As a fashion design sophomore, you develop the basic skills in sewing, textile processes, and figure drawing in support of your fashion design portfolio for admission to your year abroad.
The Paris College of Art catalog describes their program: “You acquire an understanding of tools, materials, construction techniques, and textile design methods, enabling you to express your individual creative vision. Intensive concept and design courses, weekly critiques, workshops with industry professionals, and the study of Parisian prêt-à-porter help you to develop originality and acquire an understanding of your craft.”
Your year abroad prepares you for your senior capstone experience at CVA—the development of a professional portfolio, a senior fashion collection, and an internship within the field.
