graphic design

A unique emphasis on the art and craft of typography and applied graphic design practice underscores the structure of ideas that design is meant to convey. Interwoven throughout this program are communication and interactive studies and the practices of new and emerging digital media, including information architecture and usability design.

Whether engaging traditional or new media, the design principles you acquire through training and practice remain the same. Through a rigorous, sequential curriculum, you explore these foundational elements and hone your skills as you develop creative concepts, solve visual problems and effectively communicate through engaging, compelling design. Courses may be customized to reflect your interests—from package design, advertising, corporate branding and identity and signage to publication design, web and interactivity, new media and motion graphics—preparing you for a world of opportunities as a graphic designer.
